How Torfaen differs
- The February half term in Torfaen starts 7 days earlier than in most of England.
- The Easter holiday in Torfaen starts 6 days earlier and runs 1 day shorter than in most of England.
- The Summer holiday in Torfaen starts 1 day earlier and runs 1 day longer than in most of England.
Wales sets its own school calendar, so differing from England is expected here - and it is exactly why Welsh families should not book against English dates. That matters for flights: a break that starts a day earlier or runs a week longer puts different days on the table, and the day you leave is often worth hundreds.
